First Days of Vacation

We made a quick decision and left a day earlier than planned for our trip to Hawaii. Thank goodness, because we would have been snowed in and probably never made it out of our house. (Sorry Oklahomans who had to survive the winter storm). Anyway, Hazel and I stayed in Portland with Daniel, Anna and Cora 2 days before we made our way to the beach.

One afternoon, while Anna was at work, Daniel took us to the horse races. They had to dress the part of course. :)

Milk and Cookies Birthday Party

We had a milk and cookies first birthday party for Hayden on Saturday. We are so blessed by our friends and family, thank you for coming to Hayden's party and loving our children.

If you missed the party, you missed some delicious cookies (thanks Em :) ) and homemade mints (thank you Mrs. Bass :) )

And this is how sweet Hazel spent most of the day. :( She wasn't feeling well so MeMoe and Papa took one for the team and missed the party to take care of her so that we didn't have to cancel. Thank you guys for your help, you're a blessing.

ONE

This year has been the fastest yet......Hayden is one today. It seems like last week we were at the hospital, but it's also funny that it's hard to remember life without her. She is the sweetest baby. Such a hugger and cuddler, she is a wonderful sleeper and generally happy. She has been walking since about 10 months, climbing stairs since 8 months and has 4 teeth. She loves to high five, wave and can say almost everyones name in the family. She feels the need to carry around her sippy cup of water at all times and has never met a nilla wafer she didn't like. I love love love this sweet baby, what a joy!

Pants?

Yesterday I said, "Hazel, come upstairs and put your pants on." She said, "Who's coming over?" as if we only put pants on when people come to our house. I assure you we normally wear pants at our house. ;)

Ups and Downs :)

This is a conversation that Hazel and I had while driving.....

Hazel: "Mom, that stop sign is an octagon!"

Me: "Wow Hazel! You are so smart!"

Hazel (laughing): "Mom, I just ate a booger."

Me: "Nice."

Daddy Time

David is such a good daddy. He's loving, helpful and a lot of fun. :)

Apparently Hazel was born already programed to be able to use an ipad.....she's a pro.

Sisters

Lessons from a 3 year old

Hazel (crying): "My hurties are feeling."

Me (laughing): "Oh honey, do you mean your feelings are hurt?"

Little Santa Sam

We all (Boom, Mimi, Sam, Hazel, Hayden and I) went and took pictures with Santa then "little man Santa" came to our house. Oh sweet baby Sam we love you. :)

Hayden was terrified. Hazel told Santa that she wanted a bunk bed and later told me she was glad he said "ho ho ho". Apparently the last Santa did not and it was a huge let down. :)

Life at the Wilson House

Hazel likes to play video games with David. She has her own controller and thinks she is moving the characters. I wonder how long it will be until she learns who is really "playing" the game?

Long Awaited Update...Thank You For Your Patience :)

Here's what's been going on.....

1. Hayden has been walking (at 9 months). Not taking a few steps walking, but preferred method of travel walking. Oh and that includes climbing up stairs, onto chairs, inside cabinets.....but she doesn't touch the Christmas tree (good girl).

2. Hazel is 3. Doesn't like pizza anymore and requests sushi almost daily. She still LOVES to be read to. And she makes us laugh all the time. She is so sweet to her sister. Loves to be the first to get her from her crib in the mornings and can't wait until she can share a bunk bed with her ("Is Hayden big enough for a bunk bed yet?" is also a frequent question). She sings all the time and sleep with about 10 stuffed animals in her bed.

3. We are blessed. :)
